Friends,
I have had difficulty getting around to blogging this past week. Last week we talked about Intimacy with God and this week we talked about the Holy Spirit. There were several things that stuck out to me when we talked about Intimacy with God. The first thing that has stuck with me is that “we can lead others no further than we go ourselves.” Thus, it is so important to continually be going into a more intimate relationship with Christ. I have also begun to realize the importance of “doing the possible and letting God take care of the impossible.”
I have struggled for some time with trusting and wanting a deeper faith. What I have learned this week is that “Trust is not given; it is gained by getting to know the one you trust in.” Thus, it is important to spend more time getting to know God if I want to grow in intimacy with Him. I have also learned that the best way to grow in faith is to do the very next thing you hear God say to do. God honors us when we do what He asks.
This week we talked about the Holy Spirit, who He is, what His purpose is, and where He is seen throughout scripture. It was a refreshing and encouraging time. Through this study I saw even more that in leading people to Christ it is the Holy Spirits responsibility. I am just a witness. It was so awesome to see through scripture we who believe have that same Holy Spirit in us that Christ had in Him. It is breathtaking and humbling.
These past two weeks we went for our local outreaches to Clarkston. We had so many children come and play with us. If I had to put a number on the amount of children I would say fifteen, but it was such a fluid group it was really hard to keep track. I have seen that this is catching the parents’ attention. Pray that God would work on their hearts and give us opportunities to share with them in these next couple of weeks.
We have not done prayer stations in a while just because of the busy schedule. However, this past week we went to Georgia Tech and talked to English language learners. I talked with people from Colombia, Saudi Arabia, and Korea.
