Hello once again friends!
I am back in Atlanta and have graduated from the DTS program. The past few weeks I have been praying and trying to figure out what God wants me to do now. Before I go there though I do want to tell you a little about what I discovered through my travels from Asia to Chicago. Then I have a few things I would like you to pray for.
In our ministry in Chicago I discovered that both Asians and Americans have the same questions for Christians and the Bible. The people in Asia are willing to listen and consider the answers we propose in response to the questions. However, the people in Chicago clam up as soon as we open our mouths to speak. I had many people speak louder and faster to me in order not to have to listen to what they thought I might say on subjects. (Especially when they found out my bent towards missions) To one person I never did get to say more than about three sentences “Are you sure?” “It was nice to meet you,” and “What was your name again?”
Those that did listen have their own agenda and try to trick or trap us. In their own mind they thought they had us backed into a corner. The only way we could compete with their attitudes was through prayer. This is what our team did for the most part in Chicago. We went out late at night to the areas that are known for the darkness that envelops them and prayed. We stood out and declared that the prostitutes are loved and worthwhile. We stood on street corners where gangs and drugs are prominent and claimed peace and life over those areas. Much of our ministry in Chicago was done through spiritual warfare.
We knew fighting and arguing with others was going to get us nowhere so instead we did our best to show love and just BE the light in the darkness. Unless we show Christ through our actions people do not listen because they think we are like others they have meet and we will force our thoughts on them. Thus they are defensive. They do not realize that Christ is a gentleman and will not force himself on them.
Prayer for my future:
* Pray for direction
* Quebec: All I know is God told me to go and confirmed it in several ways.
> Should I go with some people on staff here in Atlanta?
>When exactly?
>Where in Quebec?
>Why?
>How does this fit with what else God has said?
>How do I get there?
**I really only know that I am going to Quebec in about four months or so.
* YWAM Atlanta
> I believe I am to stay at YWAM Atlanta and help establish a program called Mission Bridge.
>> Mission Bridge will bring people with a passion for missions from local churches together with the opportunity to be trained and put into practice what they learn short term.
>> Pray for direction and wisdom with how this is to work out.
Thank you for your prayers and support. I am so thankful to have you all in my life.
